Cheryl Slifer of Out on a Limb

Mom always says "Idle hands are the devil's playground. Not one to play around with the devil, I decided early on to keep my hands busy.

I've grown up doing cross stitch, needlepoint and embroidery. Janet of "Three Little Wolves..." taught me the art of clay doll making and how to fashion doll clothes. Together we built Barbie houses from cardboard and wood scraps. We became Neighborhood Renowned!

Born from a need to share my artwork, out on a limb became the outlet I've always dreamed of. A collector of ALL things, my bounty of antique ephemera is used to create the vintage inspired boxes and "Wand Whimsies".

The Raggedy Can line breathes new life into old tins. Antique doll heads and vintage advertising tins are married to create unique and fanciful assemblage dolls. Some of my "girls" have found their way to the gift shop of the American Folk Art Museum in New York City.

Art in all forms is a needful thing. It's a joy that my creative efforts are appreciated by others.
