Janet Alred of The Three Little Wolves
& The Big Bad Pig

The Three Little Wolves & the Big Bad Pig came into being in 1997–a culmination of a lifetime's passion for fabric and stitchery.

"As a self-taught artist, there are no rules to follow. This allows me to express myself with childlike enthusiasm. No patterns are used in my artwork. A snip here and a fold there turns my baskets of remnants into fabric stories. Little stitched details along with baubles and other adornments add texture plus an element of surprise..."   »MORE INFO

Cheryl Burkart of Off My Rocker

"I like to joke that I was born with a pencil in my hand and was drawing before I could write. But that's not so far from the truth. I set out to be an artist but took a little detour into health care first. After many years of denying my muse an outlet, I began creating and selling at local craft shows. The muse took me down many paths: wood crafts, sewing, rug hooking and others. I must confess, I am a technique junky and always looking for something new to teach myself. About 11 years ago, I decided to give the muse full reign and quit my day job. I thought, I must be off my rocker to do this and this little business was born..."  »MORE INFO

Greta Chirco of Sew Be It

American folk artist, Greta Chirco, has a unique
approach to art and self-expression.

A Viking and Finnish heritage and allegiance to God and country are evident in these animated and amusing dolls.

Finnish people are often called the *frozen people* as they rarely exhibit any form of facial expression, but inside they are full of life and laughter. Sew Be It dolls may appear sad or serious but do not be deceived–they harbor a delightful glee down deep...    »MORE INFO

Chris Karman of the Little Emporium

"In 1995 I decided to make a lifestyle change and move from Chicago to northern Wisconsin to take over the handcrafted gift shop my mother had started in 1975. Growing up, my mom was always involved in crafts and I got interested at an early age. Her log cabin shop opened every summer for 20 years in an area known for its abundant lakes and many of the tourists who stopped in would return every season.

The enjoyment my mom got from these lasting relationships and the crafts she made continues to be an inspiration..."   »MORE INFO

Barbara Koppang of the Oddest Goddess

The creations of artist Barbara Koppang express a connection to the spiritual aspects of life. Her favorite quote is from Leonard Cohen. "There is a crack in everything, that is how the light gets in". Therefore, she loves making faces that have the "cracks" of everyday life sculpted into each one.

But she also believes that the heart is where the light gets in, so each doll has a felt heart sewn into it. This serves as a reminder that the heart is the source of the light and a person's true beauty...   »MORE INFO

Cheryl Slifer of Out on a Limb

Mom always says "Idle hands are the devil's playground. Not one to play around with the devil, I decided early on to keep my hands busy.

I've grown up doing cross stitch, needlepoint and embroidery. Janet of "Three Little Wolves..." taught me the art of clay doll making and how to fashion doll clothes. Together we built Barbie houses from cardboard and wood scraps. We became Neighborhood Renowned!   »MORE INFO
